What do I do
Today
I am Senior Humanitarian Officer with Access Now, the organisation lead in the fight for digital rights.
Generally
I am a senior researcher and consultant working on emerging technologies, humanitarian innovation, and ethics. I teach at Iris Sup in Paris, among others.
Previously
I worked as Global Digital Specialist for field operations at the Norwegian Refugee Council. I founded a US-based nonprofit on open source humanitarian technology. I led the Humanitarian Innovation and Technology area of work at the Fordham University Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs. I worked for over 15 years as humanitarian manager and consultant for ICRC, UN OHCHR, UN OCHA, OECD. I was Assistant Professor at UniRoma 3, and Adjunct Professor at Fordham University.

Advancing protection from digital harm through international humanitarian law norms, customs, and principles.

Promoting ethical approaches to the design and delivery of technological systems by private companies.
